The Path To Salvation

Do you consider yourself a good person?

Let me ask you a couple of questions.

Have you ever told even a little white lie?
Have you ever stolen even something small?
Have you ever used God’s name as a curse word?

Would other people say you
are a good person?

If you answered “YES”, consider this.
If I lied to you... you would call me a LIAR
If I stole from you... you would call me a THIEF
If I use God’s name in vain,  I am a BLASPHEMER

Is Salvation Important?

Hebrews 2:3 – How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first, began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.
John 3:7 – Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Can I know For Sure?

1 John 5:11-13 - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son, hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you are 99% sure you are saved, you could be 100% lost. You need to know that you know that you know!

Luke 9:25 – For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
John 3:3 – Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Who Needs Salvation?

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

No matter how good you are, no matter how vile you are, we all deserve Hell. We serve a Holy God…a God so holy that He could not even look at His own Son when Jesus became our sin on the cross! This God demands perfection! Complete purity and holiness! None of us could ever achieve this, and that is why Jesus came. He left His throne in Heaven, lived a perfect life, died a horrible death, then arose to offer us life abundant! Without His atoning sacrifice, we would have no hope. Yes, salvation is for all who will believe.

We see that no matter how good a person you are, or what you have been taught or believe, unless you are born again, you will not ever have salvation. It is more than religion. It is a life-altering, want-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

How Can I Be Saved?

Can Anyone Be Saved?

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1. Admit You Are A Sinner
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God!

2. Believe On Jesus Christ As Lord
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

3. Confess Your Sin To God
1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

According to the word of God, 3 things are essential for salvation:

1. The drawing of the Holy Spirit

2. Repentance of sin toward God

3. Faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:13 Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord, Shall be saved.

Lord = Master; the boss of your life. So many call upon the Savior, the Healer, the Friend, the Comforter... He is all of those things, but to be saved, you must give Him your everything. He bought your life with an incredible price, so if you will allow Him to be “Lord,” He will also be everything else.

It’s as simple as that! If you understand your need for a Savior, and you’re ready to KNOW where you’ll spend eternity, you simply must call on Jesus to ask him to forgive you, cleanse you, and dwell within you. Tell Him you’ll follow Him to the best of your ability, and that you’re trusting in Him, alone for everlasting life. He promises salvation to those who call on His name; the beautiful, precious name of Jesus.
